A Timeless Bubble

I really wish we live in Black Mirror universe where we can stay in the happiest time we ever had. Or perhaps, please please please pretty please someone invents a time machine soon, so I can go back to the time when I was just a naive student in Singapore.

It was a comfortable bubble for me. I was studying. I had many close friends. I didn’t need to worry about my financial situation. I had a boyfriend. I loved my job.

Time is really such a funny thing. I know growing up is inevitable but really, sometimes I wish I don’t have as much responsibilities as much as I have now. Life is definitely much simpler back then in 2010-2013.

I always have this clear vision on my mind, where I can go back to my past, and watch it as if I was watching a movie, sitting comfortably inside a timeless bubble. Perhaps that’s how death feels like, to rewatch and just really see how we used to live our past lives, from third-eye view, in a comfortable darkness, where time doesn’t exist.

A Go-To Person

Do you have a go-to person? Or perhaps, you're the kind of people who even have a few ones? Like, one for advising you with your personal issue, one for your hang-out buddy, one for your drinking buddy, and one for guiding you in your career?

#SelfReminder: Make Time For Kindness

artwork created by me, please credit me if you want to use it :)
Kindness has never been my strongest point. As a person who finds pleasure in time efficiency, I often don't have the patience to do kind gestures using the reason "it's wasting my time". As bad as it sounds, I don't want to do kindness insincerely, and I rather use the "quality over quantity" philosophy.

Don't get me wrong, I can be sincerely kind to people who matters to me, but I don't want to invest my time in things or people that won't give any positivity back to me. What I mean by positivity: make me have good mood and/or good vibes, enrich my knowledge & experience, teach me something useful in life. Stuff like that, you get it?

Anyway, yesterday when I was in the cinema, I was sitting next to a young man. With a little light coming from the movie screen, I saw his face and instantly knew: he has Down Syndrome.

When Love Only Is Not Enough

I wish we live in a universe where love is the only reason we fall in love on the first place. I wish we don't need to consider external factors like steady jobs and parents approval (so Asian, I know), or internal factors like our own selfishness, pride, ego, and personal dreams to fall in love. Unfortunately, that is not the case with the love that we know in this society that we live in.

Brushing off the barriers, be it external or internal is not an easy task. Sacrifices will definitely be needed without saying. However, don't lose yourself while you're in the process of sacrificing. Make sure they're worth your sacrifices, or else, you might end up hating them in the long run for all of the sacrifices you've done for them.

Only The Good Die Young

Sometimes, I have this crazy thought. How does it feel like when you fall from a skyscraper, or let's say, get hit by a bus? Will you feel an immense amount of pain or will you just black out from the shock and wake up, hopefully, in the other Universe?

During my college years in Singapore, I was walking alone late at night when suddenly a cab kind of hit me. It wasn't hard, but I could feel it pushing on the side of my thigh. I was too shocked to feel a thing, even pain. The next day, I realized there was a large bruise on my thigh where the cab "hit" me.

I Yearn For Love Just Like in Lana Del Rey's Songs

Video stills from "Shades of Cool" video
I yearn for love just like in Lana Del Rey's songs. It would be melancholic, tragic, and have masochist-tendency, preferably with older, tall, highly-charismatic gentleman who appreciates art and beauty.

I'd like to think that our relationship will be dominated by him, with him being able to tame me and string me along without even realizing it, because he never meant to, he just did. And I'd be happy to do so. Not because anyone or anything forces me, but because I want to.

He will be my drug and I will be his.

Resonation 2017: What's Stopping You?

Women Empowerment Conference. Something that is commonly held in developed countries but unfortunately is not common in Indonesia.

I had the opportunity to attend Resonation: Women Empowerment Conference last Saturday in The Kasablanka. This one-day seminar is the first women empowerment conference in Indonesia. With Sophia Amoruso, founder and the original #GIRLBOSS as main speaker, Resonation challenges women in Indonesia with this question: "What's Stopping You?"

So Many Blessings!

So here it is. The end of my life as a student. If I think about it, I already spent 15 years of my life as a student! So this is how it feels like to be a university graduate :)

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Marketing and Management :)
Countless ups and downs. So much mess, but also, awesome moments I’ve been through in these past three years. It’s been a very, very precious times of my life I will always cherish, and I’m sure, will bring a smile whenever I look back to this very moment.
I feel so grateful that I have supportive parents who always support me, and for allowing me study abroad. It is really an eye-opening experience for that naive 18 year old girl to live alone in another country! Not so naive anymore now, though… :p
Also, my gratitude go mostly to my awesome friends I’ve encountered in these 3 years. Especially, Giovanna Chee, Foo Siew Chen, Gemma Zhu, and Fernnice Wong. Before knowing them I never really experience the “Girl Friendship” hahaha! Those sleepovers, surprises, doing project together… So, so happy to have you girls in my life!!!

With the girls at BLUEPRINT Fashion Show
I know I’m not an easy person to be with, but you guys still want to be friends with me. Thank you so much for bearing with my selfishness and unbelievably-huge ego xP I’m trying to reduce those though… :|
Also, for the past year, I treasure my working experience at Dulcetfig too. I think I’m very lucky to be able to work in a very nice environment and to have such an awesome boss. Not to mention, having the Dulcetkittehs as my colleagues also brings so much happiness and joy in my life! Love you forever, Jack, Estee, and Ampang!!! <3
My helping colleagues!
So, what now? When I was a kid I always believe that after a person graduate they will immediately get a job and conquer the world. Such a naive thought xP What’s next for my life path? I really want to get a job in Singapore, been applying to several companies, but so far, no replies at all :(
Anyway, I feel so happy to have super awesome classmates. I will miss school life, and mostly them for sure! :(
Thank you for being such an awesome class!!!
But still, feel so grateful that I have successfully completed this phase in my life. Whatever happen, happens. Que cera, cera. Come at me, life, (I think) I’m ready! xP

Congrats to us, guys! :)

Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Fashion Marketing and Management <3

Hello!

Hello!

So. This is my first public blog. I decided to make this blog because I like to write, and further more, I feel like making a blog about fashion (and also other things that I like or have interest about) can make me shape up my fashion marketing skill since now I'm no longer a student!

I will write mostly about fashion (and its marketing!), my nail art, and basically, my life! I'm an avid fan of Kate Spade, Lulu Guinness, Laura Ashley, and vintage fashion. I would describe my fashion style as "Quirky Vintage meets Romantic Floral."

Additional information about me: I'm a crazy cat lady hahaha! Expect cute kitteh picture in here also!

Dressing up as a kitteh. Meow!

I just finished my three year study at Raffles Merchandising Institute, Singapore. Currently, I'm looking for job in Singapore, but so far, no reply at all :( But since I just graduated last Tuesday, I will enjoy my life as an unemployed to the most now! :D

So, yeah, since I have much free time now, why not start a blog about stuff I like? I don't think I will have many readers, but after all, I like writing and I enjoy doing it, and that's what's really important :)

See you soon!

Chikka
