Actually, this Sprinkles and Fudge design is not that new in the nail art trend hahaha, but oh well, here's my version of this yummy design!

For this nail design, I get the inspiration from this Kate Spade handbag. It's so cute and quirky! I want it so bad sob sob, but it's out of my budget and I think now it is already sold out :(

Hello! I finally did my graduation photo shoot with my family last Sunday! It's a tradition in Indonesia for Bachelor's Degree graduate to have a proper photo studio shoot wearing the graduation robe and kebaya (if you're a girl, of course!) with your family.

I'm so excited because this is my first time wearing kebaya. It's a traditional clothing from Indonesia btw. This is how the kebaya looks like during my fitting. It's slightly too big, but the tailor will take care of it :)

Look At My Pretty Nails: Pastel Leopard

Hello! New nail post yay! 

After spending the last week by going to Puncak with my family (will blog about that soon), finally got time to blog about this kawaii design :D 

I was in Sanrio shop and saw this adorable My Melody soft toy. Instead of the regular pink ears/hoodie, she wears pastel leopard print ears!

Sorry for the ugly photo, I took it secretly since there is a no camera policy in the shop sob sob. Anyway, you can see that actually some of the "leopard" prints are in flower shape! SO ADORBS OMG.

Look At My Pretty Nails: BELLO! MINIONS NAILS!

Bello everyone! (Bello= Hello in Minions language, see it here xP)

So, I've been seeing so many minions nails on Facebook and Instagram. Some are DIY, while others are from nail art salons. Also, there are quite a few tutorials on how to paint these little yellow guys on your nails, and one of them is from The Little Canvas. 

I followed her easy-to-follow tutorial, and here's what I came up with...

Look At My Pretty Nails: Glittery Stars

Hi ho! On my previous nail post, I painted my nails with stars to celebrate the 4th of July. This time, I do stars design again, however I followed this tutorial by I Have A Cupcake on how to paint the stars and to outline it as well.

I did this on my sister btw, so I suppose it's easier since I paint it on other people's nails hahaha x) Actually I think the outline colors are too pale :| Lesson's learned: It's much better to use darker color to do outline!

In the tutorial, I Have A Cupcake uses acrylic paint, but for this design, I fully use nail polish. I did try to use acrylic paint, and yes, it's easier to paint with it. However, I find that when you want to remove it, it's much harder than the usual polish. That's why I still prefer to use nail polish. However, I think when it comes to a more complicated design, acrylic paint might be a better option rather than nail polish.

So yeah, this is not my favorite design, to be honest :| Anyway, gotta keep learning to get better result! This looks better on real life, I don't know what's with the lighting :x

Look At My Pretty Nails: Happy 4th of July, America!

Hello! As you can guess from the title, my current nail theme is the 4th of July! I guess it's not too late to post about that right? x) Anyway, happy 4th of July, America! 

So, this is my first 4th of July inspired nails, and I just do simple design based on the US flag. Think of stripes and stars, with blue, white, and red color theme :D

I don't bring my nail polishes to Jakarta, so I must borrow from my sister. She doesn't have solid blue color, but actually I think the glitter blue adds a little "ooh" factor in this simple design xP No? Okay :|

Stripes and French Tip

I know the stripes are not 180° straight, but this is the best I can do so far sob sob. Stripes might look very simple, but actually it IS very difficult to do, or at least, for me xP

It's my first attempt in painting stars, and honestly, I don't really feel satisfied with the result. Gonna need to practice more to get uniformed shape! Oh, and btw I followed this tutorial on how to paint stars from Robin Moses. For this design I fully use nail polish, but if you're a fan of acrylic paint, you might want to see this tutorial by I Have A Cupcake. I think her acrylic paint skill is so damn good omg. 

I feel a bit kaypoh (busybody) to make 4th of July nails even though I'm not American haha, but hey, nail art can take inspiration from everywhere right? And as an avid Manhattan lover, I'm happy to have this design on my nails :) I really wish I can go to US and see the 4th of July fireworks someday!

Look At My Pretty Nails: Review of China Glaze Matte Magic

Hello all! You know those days, when even though you love doing your nails but you just feel so lazy to spend hours to paint is nicely? xP Well, it happened to me yesterday hahaha!

That's why I love tech-y nail polish, like crack, magnetic, and caviar polishes, because you still can get the salon-look manicure with minimal effort . My favorite one is especially the matte nail polish.

I think most of tech-y nail polish, especially crack, magnetic, and the one using flocking powder are fads xP sorry for those who like those polishes! it's just my humble opinion :| I find matte nail polish is actually quite classy and I love how it makes your nails look sophisticated. Ooh, another tech-y polish trend I love: Holographic polish! However, I still haven't get the chance to try it boo :(

Anyway, I find buying matte nail polish is so impractical because you need to buy many colors just to get the matte effect. Luckily, there are some brands that produce matte top coat. You just use the top coat on your normal polish and it will turn matte too!

So far, brands that I know that have matte top coat are China Glaze, OPI, and Essie. But I suppose now that matte nail is not exactly a new technology, many other brands start to have it as well. You can even find tutorials on Youtube on how to DIY matte top coat using cornstarch or steam!

However, I'm quite picky on my basic nail care (Base coat, top coat, and nail vitamins), so I decided to choose the matte top coat from China Glaze, since it's one of the most renowned nail polish brand in the world. It's called Matte Magic, and it only comes in one size, which is 9.6 mL (325 Fl.Oz).

It's quite tiny, actually. I got this from Scape Flea Market for $10. However, the SA told me that actually China Glaze already discontinued this top coat.

This is how it looks on my nails...

On light grey color

Right after I applied it, it actually really makes my nails look matte. The drying speed is also quite fast. However, after it is fully dried, I find that it became less matte? 

I actually quite like this top coat, since it's fast drying and very easy to apply, but the down side is the size is so tiny and I find the matte effect is not enough for me xP Hopefully later I can get the chance to try the OPI's and Essie's to test which matte top coat is the best!

Look At My Pretty Nails: Watercolor Dream

I've been wanting to make watercolor nails, however, it requires pure acetone which I don't have. So, I googled to see other alternative in achieving the look without using pure acetone, and found it!

From this post at Crafty Nail, she simply just use plastic wrap to achieve the watercolor look, which I think is way easier than using pure acetone.

You basically just paint your nails with any light base color (in my case I use white), and wait for them to completely dry. This step is crucial as if you don't wait until it's really, really dry, you will mess up in the next step. (Learn it the hard way from my own experience! :p)

Next, you have to do it one nail at a time. You put drops of nail polish of colors of your choice. In here I'm using light purple, darker purple, and a light sea foam green. Before they dry, press a plastic wrap onto your nail lightly, almost like dabbing motion, until the colors are all mixed and don't look like blots anymore. If the color is too sheer, you might want to wait until it's dry and repeat this step again.

Apply top coat to finish this design! Actually, you can apply sheer glitter polish before top coat to get the more pretty and dreamy feel x) I also applied sheer silvery glitter in here.

This technique is so easy and fuss-free to do, and you can experiment with many other color combination. I personally would love to try this again in other colors. Maybe with something like this...
